Apprenticeships a Priority in Spring Budget – New Incentives for Employers

The Chancellor, the Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP, has rightly made #apprenticeships a priority in the 2021 Spring #Budget. His key announcements were:

1. Extending the #apprenticeship incentive from 1st April to 30th September 2021. This involves a payment increase, now rising to £3,000 (with this reaching £4,000 if the #apprentice is between 16 – 18 year old).

2. Introducing a £7 million fund from July 2021 to help English employers set up and expand portable apprenticeships.

3. An additional £126 million to create 40,000 more #Traineeships, funding high-quality #workplacements and #training for 16–24-year-olds in the 2021/22 academic year.
