Levy Rules

HOW THE LEVY WORKS

From April 2026, the UK government introduced a 0.5% tax for organisations with a wage bill over £3 million per year. iSales Academy has extensive experience creating tailored in-house programmes underpinned by your values and aligned to your way of working.

For levy payers, 80% is drawn during training, with the remaining 20% paid on completion. If you run out of funds, you’ll automatically enter co-investment at 25% of total training costs.

Funding Guidance

UNLOCK YOUR FUNDING POTENTIAL

For levy-paying employers who have exhausted the funds in their Apprenticeship Service account, the co-investment rate increased from 5% to 25% for new apprenticeship starts from 1 August 2026. The government contributes the remaining 75% of the training and assessment costs up to the funding band maximum

Where the Employer is a levy-paying organisation and does not have sufficient funds available within its Apprenticeship Service account to meet the full cost of training and assessment, the Employer will be responsible for any required co-investment contribution in accordance with current Department for Education funding rules. From 1 August 2026, this may be up to 25% of the agreed training and assessment costs (subject to eligibility, apprentice age and any future funding rule changes). The Employer agrees to pay any such co-investment charges within the agreed payment terms.
